Davy Jones: Rockins Tribute To the Iconic Monkees Star
The Monkees TV  show of the same name premiered first in 1966.  The Monkees were a made up band created specifically for the show which was a mega success. The Monkees had the creme de la creme of songwriters working for them and they covered classic songs such as ‘I’m a believer’ and ‘Daydream Believer’ written by talents including Neil Diamond, Gerry Goffin and the incredible Carol King.

1967 was the year of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club and Their Santanic Majesties Request. Amazingly The Monkees outsold both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones that year. This was huge for a manufactured group whose contributions to the records was only their voices.

With hits like ‘Daydream believer’ it wasn’t long before the Monkees had scored heavily on the music charts. The Monkees even starred in their own feature film ‘Head’ released in 1968. Jones continued acting even after the Monkees split up with appearances in The Brady Bunch, playing himself as well as Marsha Brady’s dream date to prom.
